Lautner, who already bears a strong resemblance to the CGI version of Max, was very taken with the character, who gets his powers from – well, it’s complicated (something about being infected with microscopic “nano-machines” and drinking “T-juice.”)

Although Lautner is “committed to the role,” a source tells PEOPLE, the movie still has no director and no timeline, but as a high-priority project, look for it to be getting underway quickly. |
